Status quo is Latin for the state of current affairs.
Pretty sure we can do better than our affairs are currently, right?
Honestly, our current state is filled with hate (misogyny, racism, classism), murder, (terrorism, mass murders) and death (drones to our screens, unable to think for ourselves). Albeit a pretty glum premise, the hope lives in the belief that we can change that. If we allow ourselves to consider changing our ways, the world doesn’t have to be this way. I believe we can live freely, and that begins by talking about what’s wrong.
Think about what we could do. Educating Americans could be attainable without suffocating our youth with student debt. Equality on all fronts is possible. People who save lives could be making more than people who name their children after fruit and compasses.
Although some of the subject matter can be a bit heavy at best, I come here to keep it light. Promise!
The logic is, let’s challenge what we “know.” Maybe we’re doing this all wrong. Maybe we can make changes to ensure we may thrive through our days without living in societal, circumstantial, and political bondage.
