About Joni
The days owned by me are spent trying to improve things. Any sort of thing. Someone’s day. My work ethic. Running faster. How I treat people. How to perceive things. All kinds of the things, it’s fun to improve them.
For real life work I’m a freelance writer and content marketer. Also walk my dog, enjoy witty people, and do my best to enjoy each day like it’s the last.
All that, and I’m super competitive. Any sort of game, I’m in. Fair warning to the wise, I’m going to WIN. 😉
Abandoning the status quo is my life’s work. I’m a feminist* in a patriarchal world. Weighing political issues separately in a country that tells me to pick a side. Refusing to believe the normalized school > work > marriage > children > death model is the only model of human life.
*Feminism simply means complete social and economic equality between men and women — not man-hating, angry women, as pop culture often makes feminists out to be. Men are feminists. Women love men. It’s about equality, for all.
Music. True music, is written by an artist, not a production company.
We shouldn’t live in any sort of bondage. The heavy shame put on each other is beyond despicable. Shame of the size of our bodies. Shame of relationship status (or lack thereof). Shame of not having children. Shame for staying home with children. We are all so hard on each other.
Why?
The call to action of this blog, if you could say there is one, is to be kind to other people and free ourselves from whatever it is that binds us (self included, it’s a daily walk fight). Help me help other people to think a little bit differently.
Follow me on Facebook, the Twitter, and/or Google+. I hope you’ll like what you read, and thanks for stopping by.
Joni, I am Ralph Erdmanns daughter by his first marriage. This is amazing to see that you are younger than my three children. My husband and reside in both Amarillo Texas and San Francisco. It would be a pleasure to meet you. Rosemartha Erdmann Cates
